Code of Ethics

As a meditation teacher operating within the UK, I commit to the following ethical principles to ensure integrity, professionalism, and the well-being of all individuals and organisations I serve.

  1. Respect and Inclusivity
  • I will treat all individuals with respect, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or cultural background.
  • I will create a safe, inclusive space for all participants, free from discrimination, bias, or judgment.
  1. Confidentiality and Privacy
  • I will respect the confidentiality of all participants and will not disclose any personal or sensitive information shared during sessions, unless required by law or with explicit consent.
  • I will comply with all relevant data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
  1. Professional Boundaries
  • I will maintain clear and appropriate boundaries with all clients and participants.
  • I will not exploit the teacher-student relationship for personal, professional, or financial gain.
  1. Competence and Integrity
  • I will only teach practices and techniques for which I am properly trained and qualified.
  • I will regularly engage in continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance my teaching skills and personal practice.
  • I will represent my qualifications, experience, and services honestly and accurately.
  1. Well-being and Safety
  • I will prioritise the physical and psychological well-being of all participants.
  • I will be sensitive to signs of distress and refer individuals to appropriate support services or professionals when necessary.
  1. Transparency and Clarity
  • I will clearly communicate the scope, intention, and limitations of the meditation practices I offer.
  • I will provide transparent information about fees, scheduling, and cancellation policies.
  1. Non-Attachment and Non-Coercion
  • I will offer practices with humility and without attachment to outcomes or personal recognition.
  • I will never pressure or coerce participation in any meditation activity.
  1. Collaboration with Organisations
  • I will work respectfully and collaboratively with client organisations, aligning sessions with their values and needs while upholding ethical principles.
  • I will provide feedback when necessary to promote ethical practice and well-being in the workplace.
  1. Cultural Sensitivity
  • I will acknowledge and respect the diverse cultural roots of meditation practices, avoiding cultural appropriation or misrepresentation.
